Default Concept Skill Gravity Press

I'll get straight to the point

Gravity Press
Attribute Earth Magic
10 energy, 2 second casting, 15 seconds
Spell. Press the ground in front of you and all foes around you are struck for 10-51 and earth damage and are knocked down. If a foe was casting a spell that foe takes an extra 10-51 damage. This spell causes exhaustion.

EDIT
10 energy, 1 second casting, 25 seconds
Spell. Press the ground in front of you and all foes in the area are struck for 10-51 earth damage and are knocked down. If a foe was casting a spell that foe takes an additional 10-51 dmg. This spell causes exhaustion.

This any good? =D

Elite, right? And would the distance be nearby or adjacent?

Can try to comapre it with Earthquake...

Earthquake - Spell
25e | 3c | 15c
You invoke an Earthquake at target foe's location. All foes near this location are knocked down and are struck for 26-85 earth damage. This Spell causes Exhaustion.

Gravity Press seem not bad. More of a interuption skill than a direct damaging skill I guess. But would still either up the energy to 15e, or make it 25 second recharge.

i guess a little more energy and recharge time wouldn't hurt...
Also it would be in the area so the same area as aftershock.

We don't need another elite to be not so great. Increase the energy cost and recharge a bit to be more balanced i guess.

If it was Long range, then it'd be a rip off of Earthquake.
But anyway I edited it.

How is this special? All I see is earthshaker+ aftershock with a lowered recharge, exhaustion, and a mesmer like activation (on spells...) ...

No offense intended to OP, we don't need more PBAOE btw. All people use those for is farming and running enchantment based builds that run into mobs and die when a mesmer comes by.

Why does this cause exhaustion? This is pretty poor on paper. I see no reason to use this over Earthquake. None at all. Especially since I don't need to put myself in harms way to use Earthquake/Dragon Stomp.

-The damage is really poor: For this to be worth it, the damage would need to be around Earthquake level (it is after all PBAoE) for each blast. It is conditional after all and causes exhaustion.

-The spell cost should be upped to 25 energy and the description changed to "If a foe is using a skill that foe takes an extra X-X damage".

No offence but while the spell shows promise and is a cool idea, it's inefficient skills like this that make the elementalist not cut out for damage in the same regard as other classes...

This is a bump.
anyway making another comment on frojack's comment. It would be OMG powerful if it pulled off the same dmg as earthquake. Also I was keeping Aftershock in mind to go with this skill. So it's powerful enough as is. Anyway I changed the casting time to 1 second since it'd be easy to interrupt with 2 seconds.

How about....

Reverse Gravity: (Elite)
Reverse gravity at target foe's location for 1-6 seconds. Any foe that uses a skill in the nearby area is knocked down.
Cost: 15, Casting Time: 2, Recharge: 20

Maelstrom on crack ftw!
